Historic Breakthrough! Four 3000TEU Container Vessels Commence Steel-Cutting!

On April 24, 2022, Zhejiang Donghong Shipbuilding Co., Ltd. initiated steel-cutting for four 3000TEU container vessels ordered by Xiamen Hongtai Shipping Co., Ltd. Valued at approximately RMB 860 million, this project not only sets Donghong’s new record for container vessel tonnage but also represents the largest deadweight tonnage vessel project ever launched in Xiangshan County. As Ningbo’s leading private shipbuilder, Donghong is poised to make history once again. To date, Donghong has delivered over 20 vessels for Hongtai Shipping, solidifying a mutually beneficial partnership.

3,000 TEU container vessel, with an overall length of 199.9 meters, molded breadth of 34.8 meters, molded depth of 17.8 meters, and deadweight tonnage of 58,455.3. The vessel operates in coastal service areas. The design drawings were developed by Fujian Haihong Ship Engineering Design Co., Ltd., reviewed by the China Classification Society Fuzhou Branch, and inspected by the China Classification Society Zhejiang Branch.

Concurrently, Donghong’s four 8,600DWT bulk carriers for Hebei Zongheng Iron & Steel Group commenced construction on March 19 and are progressing smoothly. The company now enters a phase of "rising construction volume and expanding partnership network", with additional projects slated for the second half of this year.
