Xiangshan's Largest Container Ship Successfully Departs From Port for Sea Trials

On January 7, the "Hongtai 658", Xiangshan's largest container ship by tonnage, successfully completed its outfitting for unlimited navigation areas and slowly departed from the dock, embarking on its sea trial mission. With a deadweight tonnage of 63,519 tons, this vessel sets a new record for the deadweight of container ships built in the Xiangshan region and marks a breakthrough as the first ship to navigate the Xiawanmen channel during high tide.

The sea trial mission is of significant importance and meticulously organized. Onboard, an elite team has been assembled, comprising the trial commander, senior captains, surveyors from the China Classification Society (CCS), engineers from core equipment suppliers, the shipowner's representatives, and all crew members involved in the trials. During the upcoming voyage, the team will conduct comprehensive and high-intensity testing and verification of the ship's sailing performance, propulsion system, navigation and communication equipment, maneuverability, automation level, and various safety and environmental protection devices, following a pre-established detailed trial outline.

This not only represents a thorough "physical examination" of the ship's design and construction quality but also serves as a practical test of Zhejiang Donghong Shipbuilding's capabilities in process integration and complex system control within the field of modern container shipbuilding.
